Lunar New Year in NYC 2027: Chinatown and Flushing

Chinatown's 2027 Firecracker Festival is set for Feb. 6; its parade is listed for Feb. 21, though the same announcement gives a conflicting year.

The short answer

Better Chinatown lists its Firecracker Festival for February 6, 2027, at Sara D. Roosevelt Park and its Chinatown parade for February 21 at 1 p.m.; the parade's English and Chinese date lines conflict, so confirm before going. Flushing's organizer has no 2027 parade notice on its site. Checked November 2026.

Two Chinatown dates, one to verify

Better Chinatown lists its 29th New Year Firecracker Ceremony and Cultural Festival for Saturday, February 6, 2027, from 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at Sara D. Roosevelt Park by Grand Street. Its English listing puts the Chinatown Lunar New Year Parade and Festival on Sunday, February 21, at 1 p.m. The same announcement's Chinese date line says February 21, 2026, so treat the parade date as provisional and check with the organizer before making plans (checked November 2026).

The 2026 Chinatown parade ran on March 1, with festival booths on Bayard Street between Mulberry and Mott from 11:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. That is last year's setup, not a confirmed 2027 schedule; the organizer has not posted the next festival's booth hours or street footprint (checked November 2026).

Flushing's parade date is still missing

The Flushing Chinese Business Association's latest parade invitation on its site is for 2025. It set that parade for February 1 at 11 a.m., starting at the 109th Precinct near Union Street and 39th Avenue. The association has not posted a 2027 parade date, start time or route, so do not use that old invitation as this year's plan. Check its news page again before traveling to Flushing (checked November 2026).
