The NYPD deployed roughly 700 officers across Inwood and Washington Heights and closed Dyckman Street end to end for the weekend to prevent a rumored 'Dominican Dyckman Takeover Pt 3,' a week after Steven Bodnar, 23, was stabbed to death during a gathering that broke off from the Dominican Day Parade. Council Member Carmen De La Rosa said the parade itself went off without a hitch but the after-crowd safety plan broke down as visitors poured in from Connecticut and Long Island, causing hundreds of thousands of dollars in property and vehicle damage.
